Maintenance and Care:
Protective Storage: After a day on the slopes, store your goggles with gogglesoc on. Avoid letting the lens touch any surface by always placing them facing up.
Gentle Cleaning: Never use paper products, gloves, or abrasive materials to clean your goggles. Instead, use a lens cloth or gogglesoc to gently remove dirt and debris.
Careful Lens Changes: When changing lenses, ensure your hands are clean and dry.
Avoid Wiping Inside Lens: Touching the inside lens when wet can damage the anti-fog coating. Never wipe the inside of the lens.
Start Dry: Ensure your goggles are thoroughly dry after each use to prevent fogging.
Avoid Forehead Resting: Perspiration and snow on your forehead can lead to fogging. Avoid resting the goggles on your forehead.
Mind Your Facemask: Tucking your facemask or neck warmer into the goggles can introduce hot air and cause fogging.
Shake Out Moisture: If moisture collects inside the goggles, shake out the excess rather than wiping the lens when wet. Allow time for them to dry.
Maintain Airflow: Clear snow from vents to ensure proper airflow, helping to prevent fogging.
Why gogglesoc?
Conclusion: Your goggles are more than just eyewear; they're essential gear for your mountain adventures. By following these maintenance tips and incorporating gogglesoc into your routine, you can prolong the life of your goggles and ensure clear vision every time you hit the slopes. Protect your investment and enjoy the mountains with confidence.

]]>rPET stands for 'recycled polyethylene terephthalate', a fancy name for a revolutionary fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. The process begins by collecting discarded plastic bottles. These bottles undergo a meticulous recycling process where they're cleaned, shredded, and transformed into tiny chips. These chips are then melted, spun into yarn, and woven into the durable, sustainable fabric that constitutes gogglesocs
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond just creating products which extend the lifestyle of your lenses. By utilizing rPET fabric, we're actively diverting plastic waste from landfills and oceans, giving it a new lease on life as functional, durable gogglesocs. Not only does this help reduce our ecological footprint, but it also supports the circular economy by closing the loop on plastic waste.
While rPET fabric aligns with our sustainability goals, transparency is key. We acknowledge that while rPET offers numerous benefits, including reduced energy consumption and less reliance on virgin materials, it's essential to address both its advantages and limitations.

Is there an activity you do that inspires your creativity?
What usually inspires creativity is going out on a long tour or listening to a good song.

1. The Kola Superdeep Borehole - The Kola Superdeep Borehole is one of the deepest man-made holes on Earth, reaching a depth of over 7.5 miles (12 kilometers). It would be practically impossible to recover them due to the depth, extreme conditions, and lack of operational infrastructure.
2. Space - If you wanted to retrieve them, you'd have to consider the microgravity environment, vacuum, and vastness of space... We'd recommend just surrendering your glasses to the cosmos.
3. Infinity Mirror Room - Losing your glasses in a mirror room would be pretty disorienting and challenging to navigate. Definitely an easier situation to navigate than the Kola Superdeep Borehole... but still not ideal.
4. Sunglasses Shop - It's an awkward one. You risk looking like a thief or picking up the wrong pair. On the one hand, it's the perfect place to find a replacement pair, but that's not a very cost-effective or sustainable solution...
If the scenarios above have riddled you with anxiety, fear not - we have a solution.

For more than 50 years, the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) has led the way in redefining adaptive outdoor experiences by re-inventing adaptive equipment, technology, and coaching methods. As one of the largest and most comprehensive providers of adaptive experiences, NSCD has provided tremendous opportunities, and possibilities for people living with disabilities.
Today, we wanted to talk about the incredible stories of how NSCD athleteswho, despite adversity, never gave up on their dreams #ReThinkAbility
After enlisting in the Army in 1998, Kyle was deployed to Iraq. On a routine patrol in 2004, his squad was ambushed, and in the ensuing fight, an IED blew up the truck he was in. Shrapnel tore out his right shoulder and severed the nerves of his right arm. Back then, Kyle was sent to the San Antonio VA, one of the few neurological centers. He spent about a year, off and on, going through rehab after undergoing Limb Salvage, where the nerves of his right leg were stripped and replaced into his right arm.
As part of his rehabilitation, Kyle went back to college and earned his MBA, then moved to Alaska to work as a government contractor for a gas company in the back of beyond. When he moved back to Colorado, he decided to attend the Winter Sports Clinic for the first time in 2015.
Today, he is an IPC-classified downhill skier. He trains full-time in Winter Park, CO, and races with the National Sports Center for the Disabled on a mono ski. When he isn’t training, Kyle volunteers as an adaptive kayak instructor for people with disabilities. Kyle just took a bronze medal in the 2020 Huntsman Cup in Park City and is often ranked among the top 10 adaptive alpine skiing athletes.
In 2014, Patrick nearly died riding his motorcycle. Running late for work, he was speeding, didn’t make the turn and hit a boulder hidden in the long grass. “I was thrown into a telephone pole,” Patrick said. “I woke up a month later and I didn’t have a leg. Patrick was in a medically induced coma for weeks. His pelvis was crushed, his ribs went through his lungs, his kidneys failed, and his collarbone was smashed. “My parents didn’t want me to lose my leg,” he said. “But after two weeks, there were infections. I was dying, so they cut the leg off”. And then Patrick said the damnedest thing: “No leg, but it saved me. I’ve got to be pumped up about that”.
After his accident, he got into Paralympic sports almost immediately. He played with the Connecticut Spokebenders wheelchair basketball team. He played sled hockey. Skiing? No, he was afraid of more injury. He had started skiing at age 2 but essentially stopped at 14 as he got into high school sports. A year after his accident, he could no longer resist and headed to Mount Snow. Today, Patrick pushes on with his dreams. He reached his goal of making the 2022 Paralympics and will now represent Team USA in Beijing. “The great speed, navigating slalom gates; it is both thrilling and entirely challenging. I think I get life now. How it works, I mean. The world keeps spinning no matter what. I get it. I live. That’s it. I live. And it’s so good.”
From Fraser, Colorado, Tom has been skiing at Winter Park for the past 30+ years. After his spinal cord injury while mountain biking in 2012, Tom didn’t want to abandon sports. He had always seen and heard about NSCD over his many years at the resort, and as soon as he was able, Tom joined up to relearn how to ski and compete. The NSCD gives him and others with disabilities much better access to skiing, and being on the Comp Center Team is vital for him to keep competing.
Tom was a dentist in Fort Collins before his accident but had to retire and has now moved to Fraser full-time to compete. He is currently a board member of both the Bicycle Cooperative of Fort Collins, a non-profit organization in Fort Collins, and the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District.

1. Reduce plastic usage
Plastic takes centuries to decompose and poses constant threats to wildlife. It's time to ditch the one-time shopping plastic bags, plates, cups, disposable utensils and plastic water bottles. Bring and reuse your own bags for shopping - paper, plastic, cloth, etc. Invest in high-quality, durable dinnerware. Bring your own containers, straw, coffee thermoses and water bottles for takeout.
2. Donate your used items
Donate your used clothing, appliances, and furniture to local organizations Giving your used items a second life is a positive alternative to throwing them in the trash. Landfills can also create dry, shallow, poor-quality soil and displacement of soil oxygen by methane and carbon dioxide that affect tree growth.
3. Conserve electricity
Remember to turn off unnecessary lights and unplug electronics 💡 Light bulbs are accounted for 12% of the average household electricity bill. You can lower your carbon footprint and save money on electricity by ensuring your lights are off in empty rooms and using power strips for electronic devices.
4. Switching to biodegradable household products
Products that are made of non-synthetic ingredients, like natural deodorant, shampoo, soap bars, bamboo toothbrushes, washcloths made from hemp, etc., can easily dissolve and won't cause environmental harm. Switching to these products can help limit the impact of waste disposal
5. Conserve water
A lot of energy is required to pump water from rivers or lakes into your home. You can take small steps to save water, like taking short showers, fixing leaking pipes, keeping the running tap close while you brush your teeth, recycling water in your home, or collecting rainwater in a barrel to water your plants. You don't have to be perfect - it’s just taking small steps to make this planet a better place for our communities

]]>Today, we’re bringing you on a trip to the Rocky Mountain State, Colorado, to meet Pat Milbery, a talented artist, snowboarder, and designer. Pat was originally from Minnesota in the mighty midwest but has spent over 20 years living in Denver, Colorado. The vivid landscape of towering mountains, serene lakes, forests, and beautiful wildlife of Colorado has really inspired and motivated him to “get out of bed every morning”, explore what life has to offer, and create something special.
Pat spent a good chunk of his time on the mountains. To Pat, “being on a skateboard or a snowboard is one of the most beautiful feelings on earth”. From wall murals to gogglesoc canvas, Pat wants to evoke the feeling of freedom through imagination.
Through his artwork, Pat hopes that he can “share something that’s not only able to put a smile on someone’s face but also brings communities together.”

]]>For our Local Artist Series FW22, we’ve partnered with three amazing local artists in North America: Hayley Stewart, Nikki Frumkin, and Pat Milbery. Even though all of them share a mutual love for nature, their art styles are completely different. In this series, we’ve brought to you ten mountain-inspired goggle cover designs. Let your inner artist take you on an adventure and decide which one represents you the most.
Today, we would like to take you on a journey to the Pacific Northwest to meet Nikki Frumkin. Nikki is not only an avid skier, hiker, and climber, but she’s also a talented watercolour artist. Based in Seattle, Washington, she creates most of her paintings outside while immersing herself in nature.
When Nikki first moved to Washington state, she was surrounded by a community of mentors and friends who brought her closer to the mountains. Nature became a great source of inspiration for Nikki.
To Nikki, nature and art bounce off each other - “They came together simultaneously and continue to grow and evolve”. Nikki talked about her inspiration: “I’m really interested in capturing the scale of the mountains, the movements, the light. When I’m outside, I’m taking in all the sensory input from the mountains - how the wind is traveling, how it feels on my skin. Those “big mountain feelings” are really what I’m trying to capture in my painting.”
Through her artwork, Nikki wants to inspire people to seek and explore the world we live in - “I hope that my art makes people feel like there’s so much possibility and wonder outside and to go seek it out and care for our wild places the best we can.”

For our Local Artist Series FW23, we’ve brought together three talented local artists: Hayley Stewart, Nikki Frumkin, and Pat Milbery. Even though all of them are inspired by the outdoors, their art styles are totally unique, creative, and different from one another. We’ve got ten beautiful, vibrant, alpine-inspired gogglesocs that you can choose from. Channel your inner artist and let your creativity decide what’s uniquely yours.
Today, we want to introduce you to Hayley Stewart, born and raised an Ontarian. She attended Fine Arts at OCAD in Toronto. After moving out West in 2007, lured first by the ocean to Tofino, and then by the mountains to Interior British Columbia, Hayley has developed “an artistic voice that’s more synchronized with the nature world”. As an outdoor enthusiast and an adrenaline junkie just like many of us here, Hayley loves snowboarding, dirt biking, hiking, paddle boarding, and most recently, kiteboarding.
Mountains especially bring Hayley an abundance of inspiration and joy. Experiencing the sublimity of the mountains has changed “not only the trajectory of her artwork but also her career, and ultimately her life”. From the unreal meadows of McCrae Peak in Revelstoke to the stunning season shoulder alpine of Alaska, she has uniquely captured the beauty of creation with a multitude of hues and brush strokes. In this Local Artist Collection, Hayley has taken her creative perspective and never-ending love for nature to create four amazing and vibrant goggle covers.
Through Hayley’s artwork, not only do we see her talent and creativity, but also her gratefulness for the beautiful world we live in - “I want to transport the viewers in both ultimate and grand scale. I want my artwork to invoke the feeling of happiness and ultimately encourage the viewers to preserve and protect the environment we inhabit.”
Protect your goggles and show Hayley some love by supporting the Local Artist Series!

What constitutes a great ski destination? Terrain, fresh pow abundance, wait time, town vibes, and aprés quality are all crucial elements to consider. We ranked each resort based on these criteria to find you the ideal place to spend the season.
Whistler has grown into North America's largest vacation ski resort in recent years, with unrivalled big mountain skiing and snowboarding. There's plenty of mountain to keep you on fresh runs for the season, with over 8000 acres of terrain. The pistes range in intensity from easy to technical/difficult, making it ideal for all experience levels. Book a steeps clinic or a heli-drop for a more adrenaline-packed adventure. Whistler's après-ski scene is as well-known as the resort's slopes. On the slopes, the Roundhouse Umbrella Bar is the place to be.
Jackson Hole, has it all: plenty of powder, steeps, and unending backcountry. They recently renovated the Eagle's Rest to a quad lift, which makes uploading much faster. The new Solitude Station Learning Center (a 12,000-square-foot structure in the heart of the mountain) makes this location much more accessible to first-time riders. Jackson Hole is a must-visit for your next ski vacation, with 14 lifts, over 130 trails, and iconic après-ski spots (we recommend The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar).
Enjoy Telluride's magnificent landscape, with its sheer canyon walls rising up on all sides. Telluride features some of the best beginner routes on the continent, including Galloping Goose, which is 4.6 miles long and descends from 11,800 feet. There are over 2,100 acres of terrain, 19 lifts, and over 145 routes for the more experienced, and plenty of heli-skiing options are also available.
Vail is massive, with over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain! The mountain's seven famed Back Bowls, which include primarily ungroomed terrain and spectacular drops, cater to intermediate-expert skiers. In between runs, relax and enjoy the Colorado sunlight while eating lunch at an outdoor picnic table with views of the adjacent mountains. Vail has more than 30 lifts and more than 200 trails.
Snowbird is your dream mountain if tremendous snow and tough terrain are your top priorities. Expert and intermediate courses span over three-quarters of the mountain, which receives more than 400 inches of snow annually. If you're looking for a social atmosphere, head to Park City, nearby. Although Snowbird's amenities are minimal, there are some hidden gems, such as the SeventyOne grill.
We hope you've enjoyed learning more about North America's best places to ski! Have fun and stay safe out there. Don't forget to invest in quality gear (and your own gogglesoc to protect your goggles and stand out on the mountain).
]]>Helmet - Finding the correct helmet for you is crucial, regardless of your experience level. Make sure your helmet fits properly; a good helmet for you should not have gaps between the lining and your head. For those looking for additional safety, helmets made by SMITH (such as the Smith Vantage MIPS Helmet) have a unique honeycomb Aerocore construction that allows them to absorb more impact and includes 21 adjustable vents to control airflow.
Goggles - Nothing is worse than being blinded by the snow all day while shredding down the mountain, which is why we recommend getting a good pair of goggles. For the fit - there should be no holes between the foam and your face that allow wind or snow to get in. The goggles should have a uniform, snug fit all around the periphery and should not pinch or damage your face. For a fantastic pair of goggles, we’d recommend SMITH's Smith I/O Mag ChromaPop; the ChromaPop provides HD-like colour fidelity that translates to the slopes with incredible clarity in various circumstances. The lens' ability to emphasize minute details—bumps, dirt, or debris—in low light is particularly impressive.
As goggles are very expensive and easy to scratch on the mountain, we recommend you bring a gogglesoc with you on your next ski adventure. In addition to being stylish and helping you make your outfit unique, they also provide crucial protection for your goggles.
Jacket/Pants - A good jacket and winter pants are required to truly enjoy your winter adventures as you immerse yourself in the vast cold outdoors. When selecting your gear, there are three primary factors to consider:
Lightweight materials (you don’t want it to be too heavy on the mountain), a good outer layer that keeps out wind and moisture, and an insulation layer (that helps maintain your body temperature and retain heat).
Gloves - Gloves can be fashionable, but they must primarily serve their purpose. It's impossible not to get a little soggy or wet when playing in the snow, but wet hands should be avoided at all costs. An excellent pair of gloves should be waterproof and constructed of polyester.
Boots - Your boots connect you to your skis; thus, flexibility, structure, and fit with your legs and body are essential. They will be more responsive the better they are tailored to you and your style, allowing you to ski freely and comfortably. They should be long-lasting and comfortable for your feet and calves, and insulation and waterproofing are key!
Skis - The most crucial consideration when picking skis is the type of terrain you'll be skiing on. Will you be off-piste or on groom trails with packed snow? In different conditions, different skis will perform better.
Track skis: ideal for groomed tracks and terrain.
Groomed/powder Mix: choose all-mountain skis that are adaptable and broader.
Backcountry: use freeride skis to crave out the beaten path.
Downhill racing: look for narrow race skis.
Terrain park: for tricks in the snow park, freestyle skis are best.
Ski Poles - Stand in your ski boots and hold your poles to make sure they're the proper length. The angle of your elbows should be 90 degrees.
The extras:
Don't forget sunscreen and lip balm, the winter sun can be strong and reflective. Also bring along some extra footwear for enjoying some après ski!
]]>Did you realize that too much heat damages sunglasses? This is because it can harm your sunglasses' coating as well as cause them to shift form. During the hot summer months, avoid putting your sunglasses on the dashboard of your car (if they aren't in your sunnysoc).
Hard water can leave white spots on your sunglasses. Do not use the pool, sprinkler, or other non-filtered water to clean your sunglasses. To keep them looking perfect, wash them with filtered water or use the lens cleaning cloth included in your sunnysoc.
While I doubt you'll be immersing your sunglasses in a tub of bleach, there are a few additional substances you should avoid. Hair sprays and chlorine from swimming pools, can all harm your glasses.
Clean-clothing is an excellent way to keep your sunglasses smudge-free. We recommend you wash your clean cloth regularly to keep it free of debris, grime, and oils that could harm your lenses. Wash in warm, soapy water without fabric softener, which may cause a film to form on your lenses. sunnysoc has its own built-in lens cloth, which allows you to clean your lenses on the move.
It may seem obvious, but lenses scratch easier when they are loose in your bag. The carabiner on sunnysoc allows you to attach it to your backpack, eliminating the need to look for it. Light scratching is resistant to the many coatings on your lenses, but strong, abusive scratching can damage coatings and leave noticeable scratches. Our sunnysoc case is ideal for keeping your sunglasses safe when travelling.

GOGGLESOC HAS REPURPOSED OVER 500,000 PLASTIC BOTTLES, ENOUGH BOTTLES TO REACH THE HEIGHT OF MOUNT EVEREST 11 TIMES!
We at gogglesoc believe that it’s Good To Be Green, that's why we use recycled plastic bottles to make our products. In North America alone, nearly 39 million tons of plastic are produced each year, with 1.5 million tons ending up polluting our oceans. Of the 39 million tons, only less than 9% of all this plastic gets recycled. After learning about this, we at gogglesoc decided to become a leader in the zero-waste movement; to keep our world clean and plastic-free!
SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
In the busy world that we live in today, it is hard for members of our community to take meaningful action to make the world a more sustainable place. Our mission at gogglesoc is to create convenient, stylish, customizable, and sustainable products. Allowing members of our communities to showcase their personality through functional and sustainable products on the mountain.
We take our commitment to be environmentally friendly very seriously; by making sure that all aspects of our production process minimize waste and emissions. All packaging is made from 100% recycled paper and manufacturing happens at a socially and environmentally responsible factory.
